I had the opportunity this last weekend to photograph Sophia's 1st birthday at
Kidz Wurld
a local place for kids birthday parties. From the beginning of the
party til the end every single person was so energetic and fun! Everyone was having
such a good time! There was special
kids entertainment
for the night that included kids music, balloons, limbo, and hula
hooping. Which everyone got in on! The elmo cake {which was massive} was
so adorable with a mini elmo smash cake for little Sophia. This party was
even more special because it was full of tradition. In Korean culture
they do what is called a "doljanchi" for a childs' first birthday. It
includes a ceremony that blesses the child with a prosperous future.
They wear a
"hanbok" and a traditional hat. Then they have a
fortune telling ritual
where items are laid out and whichever item the child chooses will
foretell their future. Sophia picked the stethoscope! She's going to be a
doctor! I'm so glad I was able to apart of this special birthday! It was hard to pick my favorites, so I had to post several of them.
